Life Update

As life gets busy, I tend to forget to update my blog. However, in the spirit of getting back into blogging, I thought it might be nice to do an update about what has been happening in my life these last few months. Some of the things I will be posting are older and by older I mean they have been sitting in my drafts for quite some time. Others are posts that I am just now writing. Pho Pho-days

On a cold winter’s day, there is nothing better to warm you up than a nice big bowl of pho. Or any day for that matter, pho is always good. For those of you who have no clue what pho is, it is basically a big bowl of broth with noodles. You can order all kinds of meats or veggies and I usually order eye of round. Eye of round is thinly sliced raw steak that cooks in the broth, so no eyeballs floating around my bowl of pho. They usually bring you a big plate of bean sprouts, cilantro, basil, and limes on the side. From there you are free to BYOP (build your own pho) with all of the side items and a myriad of sauces that you can choose from. I am partial to hoisin and siracha. Sometimes I’ll use a little too much siracha but it’s great for clearing your sinuses. I am lucky that I have particularly good pho where I am from so I needed some pho in the city. I have found some good places in the city that make a mean bowl of pho for a very reasonable price. Continue reading

Schooled in Art

One of the best things about living and going to school in New York City is the amount of art I have at my fingertips. I can get on a train and see any kind of art my heart desires. I love that! Another thing I love about going to school in the city is that my classes are able to take field trips to see some pretty cool stuff. I took a painting class this past semester and about once a month the class would take a field trip to a few galleries in Chelsea.
